Certifications/Training: Must have a DoD Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) training dated 2015 or newer
Required Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; commensurate level of experience can be substituted for education requirement
Required Experience: Eight (8) years of IT/COMSEC custodian experience
Position Description:
Exeter is seeking a qualified COMSEC Custodian. Serves as the theater COMSEC custodian by providing accountability of all COMSEC keying material and controlled cryptographic items (CCI) supporting the Security Cooperation Offices (SCOs) and Coalition Partner Nations in USSOUTHCOM's area of responsibility (AOR).
Primary Responsibilities:
Administers, maintains, and manages an NSA COMSEC account. Manages software upgrades, keying and battery check out of all Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI) equipment as required
Ships and receives COMSEC keying material and CCI equipment for the SCO's and Coalition Partners to COMSEC hand receipt holders located in the AOR
Responsible for the operational and administrative coordination and tasks associated with the management of crypto nets supporting SOUTHCOM
Reviews the communication annexes of OPLANs, OPORDs, COMPLANs, and CONOPs as required in support of exercise and real-world operations
Issues COMSEC call out messages in support of exercises and operations as required. Conducts annual, semi-annual and special occasion COMSEC account inventories
Serves as the COMSEC command authority and controlling authority for all SOUTHCOM controlled key mat to include maintaining all files and issuing the monthly COMSEC effective status message
Ensures the destruction of keying material and turn-in of CCI equipment as required. Plans, coordinates, fields and installs CCI at the SCOs and Coalition Partner Nations in the SOUTHCOM AOR as required and to support crypto modernization
Required Qualifications:
Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; commensurate level of experience can be substituted for education requirement
Must have a DoD Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) training dated 2015 or newer
Eight (8) years of IT/COMSEC custodian experience
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communications skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
Experience working in the SOUTHCOM environment
Proficient at reading and writing and speaking in Spanish
