CONTROLLER

Job Title: Controller
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Summary:

The Controller will be responsible for managing accounting records, evaluating risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supervising the accounting department. This role plays a key part in strategic decision-making and maintaining the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards and regulations.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures to enhance workflow and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic planning.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, conducting performance evaluations and ensuring professional development.
• Ensure timely filing of taxes and other regulatory reporting.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financing arrangements.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate finance activities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Controller or similar role in accounting/finance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• CPA certification.
• Experience in restaurant and food manufacturing industries.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial modeling.
