Job Description

Conduct Quantitative and Computational Research Design and implement quantitative analyses related to environmental hazards, carceral systems, and environmental health outcomes, including data cleaning, statistical analysis, and reproducible workflows using Python, R, and/or QGIS. Conduct Qualitative and Community‑Engaged Research Participate in qualitative research activities such as interviews, focus groups, archival research, and participatory or community‑based methods. Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders in research design, data collection, and interpretation. Research Dissemination and Scholarly Products Prepare manuscripts, reports, maps, and presentations for peer‑reviewed publications, grant reports, conferences, and public‑facing audiences. Contribute to interdisciplinary research teams and co‑authored outputs. Independent research efforts may also be included. Project Support and Collaboration Support day‑to‑day research project activities, including coordination with collaborators, mentoring graduate or undergraduate researchers as appropriate, and contributing to grant development or reporting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of environmental hazards, environmental justice, carceral geographies, and/or environmental health frameworks. Expertise or demonstrated capacity for qualitative research and community‑engaged scholarship. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, GIS and spatial analysis tools (e.g., QGIS or similar software). Ability to manage multiple research tasks and work collaboratively with various partners.
