Property Accountant
Location: Birmingham, AL
Position Type: Full-Time | Exempt

What You’ll Do
- Own full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of multifamily properties
- Lead month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial review
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations with audit-ready support
- Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and partner with operations on results
- Analyze financial performance and provide clear, actionable insights
- Review revenue and expense activity for accuracy and proper coding
- Collaborate across teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Stay responsive and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders

Qualifications (Required)
- At least 1 year of accounting experience in a professional setting
- Experience with month-end close (accruals, reconciliations, financial review)
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas (VLOOKUP) and pivot tables
- Experience managing financial reporting across multiple accounts, entities, or properties
- Consistent and timely communication in a professional environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Yardi Voyager or a similar ERP/accounting system
- Background in property or real estate accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
