Job Description

Who we are
You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Doane Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ about 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

As a Manager, Transactions [Due Diligence] you will be making a difference by:
· Serve as the day to day lead on transactions engagements for financial and corporate strategic buyers from a variety of industries
· Provide hands‑on experience with Quality of Earnings, working capital normalization, and net debt analysis
· Advise on financial aspects of SPAs / APAs, including deal mechanics and post‑closing adjustments
· Ability to connect diligence findings to valuation, deal structuring, and investor decision‑making
· Lead meetings and calls with clients and target management
· Develop and maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services.
· Manage business development activities, such as proposals, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership material
· Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
· Provision of timely, meaningful and critical feedback to clients to support their transaction decision
· Demonstrated ability to contribute to practice growth through client delivery excellence, thought leadership, and business development
· Leverage data analytics, visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and automation to enhance diligence insights, storytelling, and efficiency
· Partner with internal technology and innovation teams to experiment with advanced analytics, workflow automation, and emerging AI‑enabled solutions in diligence
· Help evolve traditional FDD deliverables by incorporating interactive dashboards, data‑driven visuals, and repeatable analytics where appropriate

At Doane Grant Thornton, you’ll work with inspiring leaders who support your development, both personally and professionally. This is a place where your insatiable curiosity enables you to think, see and hear from a variety of perspectives, a place where every day is different and having the courage to grow is part of who you are. And when all this comes together, well that’s when the magic happens!
