WHAT YOU WILL CONTIBUTE TO THE TEAM

As a Superintendent, you will be accountable for the safe, efficient, and contract‑compliant execution of all on‑site construction activities within a unionized workforce. You will partner closely with the Project Manager, union trades, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to successfully deliver Heavy Civil projects.

  • Provide overall on‑site construction management, coordinating design intent, budget, and schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager, union subcontractors, owners, engineers, and architects
  • Lead and supervise union craft labor in accordance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), jurisdictional requirements, and site policies
  • Ensure all work is executed in compliance with project drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and union agreements
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules; forecast manpower requirements by trade, material quantities, and equipment needs to support efficient work sequencing
  • Coordinate with union representatives, forepersons, and stewards to ensure proper staffing levels, trade jurisdiction compliance, and productive site operations
  • Ensure appropriate tools, equipment, and resources are available and aligned with union work rules and site logistics
  • Lead site meetings with internal teams, union representatives, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to track progress, resolve issues, and maintain strong labour relations
  • Proactively identify potential risks, work interferences, jurisdictional conflicts, or schedule impacts and communicate them to the Project Manager and senior leadership, supporting timely and effective resolution

WHAT YOU CAN OFFER

  • 3–5 years of Heavy Civil construction experience, including deep excavation, deep wet utilities, and electrical utility installations, within a unionized construction environment
  • Strong working knowledge of union labour practices, collective agreements, trade jurisdiction, and grievance avoidance strategies
  • A construction-related degree or diploma with 5–8 years of progressive construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and hands-on experience
  • Proficiency with construction scheduling tools, project management software, and contract administration systems
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues quickly, assess root causes, develop practical solutions, and lead large union crews to successful and safe project completion
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build trust and productive working relationships with union trades, management, and project partners

  • Knowledge of Procore
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites
  • Ontario “G” Driver’s License

The expected salary range for this role is determined in accordance with the union collective agreement.
