MRI Assistant Practitioner

Pinehill Hospital, Hitchin

37.5 Hours

We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced MRI Assistant Practitioner to join the team at Pinehill Hospital, working under the guidance of a qualified Radiographer. The successful candidate will participate in the MRI rota undertaking work within the department when required, including weekend work.

Duties will include

• To perform basic MRI examinations

• Assist radiographers by preparing rooms, equipment and patients prior to imaging examinations where necessary

• To carry out all diagnostic procedures to the highest possible standard in line with departmental protocols and procedures

• To report equipment faults to the supervising radiographer and take appropriate action

• Understand and observe the principles of MRI safety and participate in the associated QA programmes

• Undertake daily and monthly checks of the equipment and record this

• Assist in departmental audits

• Demonstrate a high level of communication skills and empathy when dealing with patients and other staff members

• Maintain appropriate levels of stock and order stock in line with departmental policy

• To promote total quality care for patients

What you'll bring with you

• Experience working as an Assistant Practitioner in a MRI facility is essential

• Knowledge of RIS and PACS

• IV cannulation training (desirable)
