The Courtyard by Marriott Kansas City at Briarcliff is now accepting applications for Bistro Attendants to join our guest-focused hospitality team. We are hiring for both AM Barista and PM Bartending shifts.
This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming, engaging experience for our guests by providing exceptional food, beverage, and service support in our Bistro.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and connect with every guest in a friendly and professional manner
- Discover guest needs and make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations
- Answer questions about menu offerings, hotel services, and amenities
- Take food and beverage orders and accurately enter them into the POS system
- Communicate meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- Prepare food items, coffee barista drinks, and beverages, including alcoholic beverages
- Assist with food preparation including portioning, chopping, and proper storage
- Perform assigned opening and closing duties and running side work
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary service and work area
- Ensure guest satisfaction with food, beverages, and overall service
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or concerns
- Prepare and present guest checks, process payments, and make change when applicable
- Count and balance cash drawer at the end of shift, complete cashier reports, and secure bank
- Work collaboratively with team members, including food running, bussing tables, cleaning, resetting tables, and maintaining lobby and Bistro areas
- Thank guests by name (when available) and invite them to return
- Share in food running responsibilities with all servers
- Be flexible and available to fill in as needed to support smooth Bistro operations

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong understanding of the English language
- Previous guest or customer service experience preferred
- TIPS and CARE certification (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain
- Ability to input and retrieve information using a POS or property management system
Licenses & Certifications
- Food Handler’s License (KCMO) within 30 days of hire
- Liquor License (KCMO) within 30 days of hire
