Job Description
Position: Art Teacher
Qualifications:
Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Middle School Art Endorsement or
K-12 Special License Endorsed for Art or Visual Arts
Reports to: Building Principal or Designee
Job Goal: The Art Teacher understands the sensory elements and organizational principals, and expressive qualities of the arts.

- Ability to implement art curriculum across grade levels (K-9)
- Must use IL Learning Standards in designing, and implementing art instructions.
- Ability to integrate art across the curriculum
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of fine arts.
- Familiarity with tools and resources necessary to provide art instruction
- Ability to individualize instruction
- Strong collaborative skills with colleagues and parents
- Strong work ethic
- Support the District’s policies and procedures related to:
- Teaching and learning
- Grading
- General instruction
- Strong classroom management and organization
- Strict adherence to safety
- Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of students
