Homebound Instructor

Description: Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking a qualified Homebound Instructor to provide individualized instruction to students who are unable to attend school due to medical or other approved reasons. The Homebound Instructor will deliver instruction aligned to district curriculum and support students in maintaining academic progress during their absence. Instruction may be done virtually. Approximately 5-10 hours per week plus additional prep time.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction in core content areas based on student needs and assigned grade level/coursework.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and building administration to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to school staff.
• Maintain accurate records of instructional time and student performance.
• Establish and maintain a positive, supportive learning environment in a home or agreed-upon setting.
• Follow district procedures and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications: 

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required with appropriate special education endorsement.
• Strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to varying student needs.
   

Salary: Currently $37 per hour for the 2025-2026 school year. NOTE:  Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
