Homebound Teacher (High School)

JOB TITLE: Homebound Teacher (High School Student)
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
POSTING DATE: 04/29/2026

This is a temporary position running through the end of the 25-26 school year. 

This role consists of two non-consecutive hours of work per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Teacher Certification � full approval by the State Board of Education
• Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to listen and to give directions and instructions
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Outstanding communication skills - verbal and written
• A strong commitment to educating students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, as demonstrated by experience with co-teaching or other collaborative delivery models
• Demonstrate ability to implement research-based instructional strategies for math, reading and writing to address academic needs of students
• Knowledge and ability to implement data collection techniques for monitoring student growth

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain lesson plans and student records for attendance, performance and progress with clear objectives
• Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive educational environment
• Exhibit a positive demeanor and support a positive work environment.
• Complete assigned tasks, reports, and other requirements on time
• Collaborate with general education teacher
• Other duties as assigned by administration

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand and walk over extended periods of time
• Ability to sit up to for extended periods of time in a work day, and to sit/stand several times in short periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy items.
