As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to deliver individualized, play-based therapy across two dynamic pediatric settings.
Settings:
- Outpatient Pediatric Clinic: Serving children and adolescents up to age 21
Schedule: Part-time
License Requirement: Active COTA license
Your Role in Action
This is a hands-on, highly interactive role where creativity and adaptability are key. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of ages and developmental needs across both settings.
In this role, you will:
- Provide 1:1 play-based therapy sessions to children with developmental delays, sensory processing needs, autism spectrum disorders, and other diagnoses
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising OT, focusing on fine motor skills, visual motor integration, sensory regulation, and daily living skills
- Use creative, child-led activities (sensory play, crafts, obstacle courses, structured routines) to promote engagement and progress
- Support development of self-care skills such as feeding, dressing, grooming, and toileting readiness
- Apply sensory integration strategies to improve attention, behavior, and participation
- Educate and partner with parents/caregivers to support carryover at home
- Monitor progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
- Complete electronic documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team (OT, PT, SLP) to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment

What We’re Looking For
- Current COTA license
- Passion for working with children across a range of developmental stages
- Ability to be engaging, creative, and flexible in different settings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
