Job Description

Position Summary

The Adult Club USTA & Club Team Coordinator is responsible for the planning, administration, and execution of all adult USTA league programs and adult club team offerings. This position serves as the primary liaison between adult members, team captains, coaches, club staff, and USTA organizations. The Coordinator plays a critical role in delivering a high-quality competitive experience that supports member engagement, retention, and the continued growth of adult tennis programming at the club.

 Key Responsibilities

Adult USTA League Management

• Oversee all adult USTA league participation, including Adult, Mixed, Combo, Tri‑Level, and other applicable formats

• Serve as the primary club contact with USTA district, state, and sectional offices

• Manage team registration, rosters, eligibility requirements, deadlines, and league compliance

• Recruit, onboard, and support team captains; provide guidance on rules, ratings, and expectations

• Coordinate league schedules, match times, court assignments, and rain makeup procedures

• Monitor player ratings, NTRP issues, appeals, and league movement

• Track league standings, playoffs, and postseason advancement

Adult Club Team Program Coordination

• Organize and manage the club’s adult club teams and internal competitive group offerings

• Assist in player placement and team formation in collaboration with the Director of Tennis and coaching staff

• Coordinate team practices, match play opportunities, seasonal calendars, and competitive goals

• Support coaches and captains with logistics, communication, and team operations

• Foster a strong team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, and club pride

Member Experience & Communication

• Serve as a visible and approachable point of contact for adult members participating in competitive programs

• Communicate clearly and professionally regarding schedules, expectations, team updates, and policies

• Assist with conflict resolution related to team placement, playing time expectations, ratings, and league disputes

• Actively support member retention and engagement through thoughtful program management and responsiveness

Administrative & Operational Duties

• Maintain accurate records of rosters, participation, match results, standings, and historical data

• Utilize USTA platforms (e.g., TennisLink), club management software, and internal communication tools

• Coordinate closely with the front desk, court scheduling staff, and tennis professionals

• Prepare seasonal summaries and reports for club leadership and the Director of Tennis

Program Growth & Support

• Identify opportunities to grow adult league participation and club team offerings

Is available for morning resort clinics when not teaching Calta clinics

• Assist with adult tennis events such as team tryouts, socials, championships, and end‑of‑season celebrations

• Support promotion and marketing of adult competitive programs in collaboration with club leadership

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Tennis or Club Management

Required Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of USTA adult leagues, rules, ratings, and structures

• Prior experience coordinating adult tennis programs, leagues, or teams

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage multiple teams, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations

• Professional demeanor and ability to navigate sensitive member situations effectively

• Proficiency with technology, online registration systems, and scheduling software

• Availability to work evenings and weekends during league seasons

Preferred Qualifications

• USTA, PTR, or USPTA certification

• Tennis playing or coaching background

• Experience in a private club or member‑based tennis environment

Working Conditions: 

  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat);
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 15 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel or crawl occasionally
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements, pushing and pulling and simple grasping frequently; squeezing, overhead reaching & fine manipulation occasionally.
