Digitization Imaging Specialist I
Job Description
Overview
This position is responsible for supporting the preservation and accessibility of archival collections through high-quality digitization of bound materials. Working closely with the other staff members, the role ensures that archival materials are carefully handled, accurately captured, and transformed into reliable digital formats for long-term use. This is a limited term position.
Responsibilities
- Performs high-quality scanning of bound archival volumes in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, etc
- Ensures careful handling of materials
- Reviews images for clarity, completeness, and correct order, making adjustments as needed
- Creates archival master files along with accessible versions for broader use
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years of digitization experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of Hebrew and Yiddish. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, & Outlook.
Working Conditions
- Extensive use of computers.
- Extensive time sitting and standing.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
