Position Overview

The Food Runner / Barback is an essential member of the front‑of‑house team, supporting both dining and bar operations to ensure a seamless and elevated experience for members and their guests. This role requires a polished, service‑driven individual who thrives in a refined, fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates urgency, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding club standards while contributing to The Medallion Club experience.

Essential Responsibilities

Dining Room Support (Food Runner)

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to members and guests with accuracy, proper timing, and adherence to presentation standards
  • Ensure all dishes meet club quality expectations before leaving the kitchen
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and service staff regarding modifications, allergies, and timing
  • Assist servers by clearing, resetting, and maintaining clean, organized tables
  • Support fine dining service standards, including pacing awareness and member preference recognition

Bar Support (Barback)

  • Maintain full stock of spirits, wine, beer, garnishes, mixers, and glassware
  • Anticipate bartender needs to ensure efficient, uninterrupted service
  • Change kegs, refill ice, polish glassware, and restock inventory throughout service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and polished bar environment
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures in accordance with club standards

Service Standards & Expectations

  • Provide attentive, discreet, and professional service at all times
  • Maintain a polished appearance consistent with club grooming standards
  • Demonstrate urgency while remaining composed and member‑focused
  • Anticipate member needs and respond proactively
  • Uphold the club’s culture of hospitality, respect, and excellence

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to excel in a high‑volume, detail‑oriented setting
  • Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service is a plus
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and carrying items
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motions

Typical Working Conditions

  • High‑end, member‑focused private club environment
  • Work may occur indoors or outdoors depending on outlet
  • Exposure to varied weather conditions
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Use of POS systems and standard service equipment
