DirectorJob Description & Summary
About the role:
The UK Alliances team accelerates growth in tech-enabled transformation by working closely with technology partners and clients and focusing on large-scale, transformational programmes. New leadership is needed to drive these alliance relationships both strategically and operationally. Building on a strong track record of delivering large, complex, brand-defining Amazon Web Services (AWS) transformations, the team enters the year with a strong pipeline of opportunities. An AWS Public Sector Sales Director (pre-sales) will help take the AWS offering to the next level and build a best-in-class function. This deal-focused specialist brings deep expertise in how AWS goes to market in the Public Sector and supports Alliance growth across key metrics, including wins, Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), pipeline, team outcomes and budget. The role helps strengthen the relationship, increase market penetration, identify solutions and secure wins, working closely with the Alliance team and leader, EMEA and Global Alliance teams, and the AWS Alliance Partner Manager and Solutions Architects.
What your days will look like:
Set and deliver the UK AWS Public Sector alliance strategy and business plan, driving market penetration and revenue growth.
Partner with sales and delivery teams to build qualified pipeline, increase deal flow and accelerate sales cycles.
Execute joint go-to-market plays and win strategies, shaping solutions with AWS and internal specialists to secure priority deals.
Lead stakeholder engagement and alliance governance, communicating the value proposition, maintaining partner status/certifications, and managing commercials, compliance and contracting.
This role is for you if:
Strong Public Sector experience and market understanding.
Excellent communication skills, able to lead multidisciplinary teams and partners to deliver to briefs.
Proven stakeholder management in complex, matrix organisations; confident influencing, negotiating and facilitating.
Able to lead through change and ambiguity, motivating others and continuously testing, learning and optimising.
Strong commercial and risk awareness, with a creative, trend-aware and curious mindset.
Experience selling AWS (or equivalent) Cloud, Data and AI solutions; familiarity with consulting/professional services; AWS certifications: Cloud Practitioner (essential), AI Practitioner and Security – Specialty (preferred).
What you’ll receive from us:
No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.
We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
