The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for overseeing the strategic design, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education programs across the organization, ensuring alignment with adult learning best practices, interprofessional education principles, advancing clinical practice, promoting staff provisional growth, and measurable outcomes. The Director of Clinical Education will lead a team of educators and support staff, facilitating continuous learning and compliance with accreditation standards and healthcare regulations.

A Brief Overview

The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for overseeing the strategic design, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education programs across the organization, ensuring alignment with adult learning best practices, interprofessional education principles, advancing clinical practice, promoting staff provisional growth, and measurable outcomes. The Director of Clinical Education will lead a team of educators and support staff, facilitating continuous learning and compliance with accreditation standards and healthcare regulations.

What you will do

  • Design, standardize, and oversee competency-based curricula and instructional strategies across clinical disciplines, incorporating adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and initiatives using established educational evaluation frameworks and learner performance data to drive quality improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a team of clinical educators and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate with department heads and healthcare professionals to identify training needs and develop customized educational programs.
  • Manage the budget for clinical education, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to meet organizational needs.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical education that align with the health system's objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation, certification, and licensing standards.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with academic institutions and other external organizations to enhance educational opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in education, nursing, or a health-related field. Required
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) in education, nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field with emphasis on adult learning, curriculum design, or educational leadership Preferred
  • 4-6 years experience providing clinical or professional education within a healthcare or regulated environment, including curriculum development and learner evaluation Required and
  • 1-3 years in a formal leadership, supervisory, or program management role within a healthcare or clinical education setting Required
  • Demonstrated ability to design and evaluate competency-based, outcomes-driven education programs
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, simulation, or technology-enabled education
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor content to key target audiences.
  • Experience leading interprofessional education initiatives

Qualifications:

Certification in clinical education or professional development - Preferred
