The level of autonomy, technical complexity, and leadership responsibility distinctly separates the four technician roles. Role Primary Focus On the job Autonomy & Leadership Technician 1 (Entry-Level) Assisting experienced techs with maintenance and repairs; learning safety protocols. Works under direct supervision and specific direction. Technician 2 (Experienced) Independent preventative maintenance; routine troubleshooting and minor upgrades. High independence on PMs; participates in the 24-hour "On Call" rotation. Technician 3 (Senior) Advanced troubleshooting and unsupervised corrective maintenance.
