Position: Roman Catholic Musician
Location: Newport, RI 02841
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clergy to choose suitable music for Masses and events, adhering to Catholic liturgical guidelines.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteer musicians, including choir members and instrumentalists.
- Plan and lead rehearsals to prepare for services.
- Work with pastoral teams to integrate music into worship, creating a harmonious liturgical experience.
- Lead musical elements during Masses and encourage congregational participation.
- Promote spiritual and musical growth among musicians.
- Maintain equipment and music resources.
- Foster community within the music ministry and coordinate activities with other church ministries.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in vocal and instrumental music.
- Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and music traditions.
- Experience in choral conducting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Dedication to enhancing worship through music.
