Job Purpose
Location - Reading, PA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Travel Requirement - Travel as business needs arise, including visits to locations across the USA, Canada, and South America.
EnerSys is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) to support the Americas Motive Power Line of Business (LOB). This role serves as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, driving alignment between people strategy and business objectives while leading talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
As a member of the HR leadership team, the Sr. HRBP provides hands‑on, onsite HR leadership in a complex, multi‑site operating environment. The role requires strong presence, judgment, and influence to support leaders and employees, manage risk, and deliver measurable people outcomes across the Americas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategies, programs, and processes aligned with EnerSys’ business objectives and long‑term growth plans.
- Partner closely with senior Motive Power leadership to ensure people strategies directly support operational and commercial priorities.
Talent Management
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to build and sustain strong talent pipelines, particularly across Sales and Service organizations.
- Lead succession planning, talent reviews, and development initiatives to ensure readiness of key talent and leadership roles.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve
Cultural & Organizational Leadership
- Act as a Americas.
People Strategy Execution
- Partner onsite with business leaders to assess organizational effectiveness, workforce capability, and talent needs.
- Translate business challenges into practical, data‑driven people solutions in collaboration with Corporate HR and Centers of Excellence.
HRBP Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor HR Business Partners supporting Canada and South America.
- Ensure consistent execution of regional and global HR initiatives while supporting the professional development and effectiveness of the HRBP team.
Reporting & Insights
- Prepare and present HR metrics, trends, and insights to business leaders to support informed decision‑making.
- Proactively identify workforce risks and opportunities, recommending actionable solutions.
Special Projects
- Lead or support HR initiatives such as organizational restructuring, M&A integration, and cross‑functional transformation efforts.
- Provide hands‑on, onsite HR leadership during periods of significant change requiring direct employee and leadership engagement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leaders in a multi‑location, matrixed environment.
- Strong background in talent management, employee relations, and change management.
- Experience with HRIS platforms; SuccessFactors experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
- High ethical standards with demonstrated discretion and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:

- In‑depth knowledge of employment laws across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America.
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration.
- Experience supporting global or multi‑regional operations, particularly in the Americas.
- Background in Sales, Service, or customer‑facing environments.
- Bilingual (Spanish or French) to support South America and Canada.
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP).
Desired Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, reporting) and other MS Office applications.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business priorities into effective people strategies.
- Proven executive presence and influencing skills, with experience partnering with senior leaders.
- Strong customer‑centric mindset with a proactive, high‑ownership approach to supporting leaders and employees.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to use HR data and insights to support decision‑making.
