ROLE SUMMARY:
Wetherby Kensington is a two form, non-selective, pre-preparatory school for boys from Reception to Year 3. It follows exactly the same curriculum and shares the same values and ethos as Wetherby School and will be an integral part of the Wetherby Group of schools. Boys at Wetherby Kensington receive very high levels of academic education and pastoral care.
Wetherby Kensington is currently looking for an organised, enthusiastic and efficient personal assistant to the Headmistress. The successful candidate will be dynamic, will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be able to build relationships with children, staff and parents confidently.
This is a really exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, supportive and caring person who works with equal efficacy both independently and as part of a team. This position will be a varied and busy role and would suit someone kind, team orientated, highly organised and with a great eye for detail. Applicants will join an innovative, forward-thinking and committed team.
Experience of working within a school environment is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to have strong administrative, secretarial and IT skills along with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Previous experience of school procedures and administrative systems would be an advantage. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of using SIMS. Training will be provided if required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration & Reception
- Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors and staff
- Manage enquiries, emails, post, diaries and general office administration
- Maintain pupil records, filing systems and office supplies
Pupil Welfare & Attendance
- Administer first aid and medication in line with school procedures
- Maintain medical and attendance records, following up absences where required
Admissions & Parent Communication
- Support admissions and registration processes with the Registrar
- Coordinate parents’ evenings, school events and parent communications
Clubs & Events
- Manage after-school club administration, Parent Pay setup and provider liaison
- Support school events, photography and second-hand uniform sales
Compliance
- Process staff absence records and new starter documentation
- Maintain compliance with safeguarding, health & safety and school policies
General
- Support the wider school community and uphold the school’s ethos and values
