Job Description

Purpose and Mission

The Site Services Technician is responsible for delivering high‑quality on‑site technical services related to rope inspection, maintenance and associated activities across international customer sites.
The role ensures safe execution of work, accurate technical reporting, and professional representation of the company at all times, contributing to asset integrity, operational safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Perform on‑site service activities including:
  • Rope inspection
  • Rope installation, replacement and removal
  • Rope handling, reeving and tensioning
  • Splicing and socketing support
  • Execute all work in accordance with approved procedures, standards, and work instructions
  • Ensure correct and safe use of tools, equipment and materials
  • Prepare and complete risk assessments, method statements, and technical reportsIdentify defects, non‑conformities, and provide clear recommendations
  • Comply fully with all HSE policies, customer site rules, and permit‑to‑work systems
  • Conduct job risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety briefings on siteAct as a safety role model and stop work where unsafe conditions are identified
  • Provide on‑site supervision when required
  • Maintain a professional, customer‑focused attitude while representing the company on client locations

Profile – Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Steel wire rope inspection
    • Lifting equipment inspection
    • Rigging, hoisting or asset integrity services
  • Experience working in industrial environments such as offshore, ports, mining, maritime, or heavy industry
  • Familiar with permit‑to‑work systems and strict site safety regimes

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of steel wire rope construction, failure modes and inspection criteria
  • Experience working with relevant inspection standards (ISO, EN, OEM guidelines)
  • Ability to work independently in the field
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain offshore survival certification (e.g. BOSIET or GWO) and required medical fitness

Desirable:

  • Lifting equipment specialist certification
  • Experience with spoolers and winches
  • Rope Access Level 3

  • Fluent in English
  • Strong safety mindset with attention to detail and quality
  • Hands‑on, pragmatic and solution‑oriented
  • Clear communicator, both verbally and in written reports
  • Able to work on global contracts with extensive travel
