Banquet Houseman – Help Create Memorable Events!
Do you enjoy working behind the scenes to help events run smoothly? Join our team as a Banquet Houseman, where you’ll play an essential role in setting up and maintaining banquet and special event spaces to ensure every guest experience is exceptional.
In this hands-on role, you’ll assist with event room preparation, breakdown, and organization while working closely with the banquet team to keep operations running efficiently. If you take pride in organization, teamwork, and creating polished event spaces, this opportunity is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders and floorplans
- Ensure all banquet and catering areas are clean, organized, and event-ready
- Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and AV equipment for meetings, banquets, and special events
- Break down rooms after events and return all equipment to proper storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage and equipment areas
- Assist team members to ensure events run efficiently and smoothly
- Support banquet operations with attention to detail and professionalism
- Work collaboratively with banquet staff, servers, supervisors, and other departments
- Complete additional duties as assigned by leadership
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to read and interpret event orders and floorplans
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- General computer knowledge preferred
- Dependable, organized, and team-oriented
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining clean and professional event spaces
Physical Requirements
This is an active role requiring frequent standing and walking throughout shifts. Duties include lifting, reaching, handling equipment, and moving banquet furniture as needed.
Ability to lift/move:
- Up to 25 lbs frequently
Must be comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in banquet halls, meeting rooms, and event spaces
- Noise levels are typically moderate
- Events may occur at any time of day or year depending on business demand
Work Schedule
- Schedules fluctuate based on banquet and event bookings
- Morning, evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required
- Events are hosted year-round based on business needs
