About the Role
Phenom is looking for a passionate and analytically strong Junior Network Administrator with a focus on
wireless networking to join our growing IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will assist in designing,
deploying, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise wired and wireless network environments across
Phenom’s India offices and support global connectivity needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for B.Tech
graduates with a keen interest in networking technologies to turn their academic knowledge into real-
world expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Wireless Network Administration:
• Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure (access points,wireless controllers).
• Monitor wireless network performance, signal strength, channel interference, and client
connectivity.
• Perform Wi-Fi site surveys and assist in planning optimal access point placement for full
coverage.
• Configure and manage SSIDs, VLANs, and wireless security policies (WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X,
RADIUS).
• Support the rollout and management of Wi-Fi 6 / Wi-Fi 6E infrastructure upgrades.
Network Operations & Monitoring
• Monitor network health using tools such as Meraki platforms.
• Assist in maintaining LAN/WAN infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Respond to network alerts and participate in incident resolution for connectivity issues.
• Maintain network uptime and support performance benchmarking and capacity planning
activities. Network Configuration & Troubleshooting
• Configure VLANs, STP, inter-VLAN routing, and basic BGP/OSPF routing protocols.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and wireless environments.
• Assist with DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (IPAM).
• Support firewall rule analysis and basic security policy implementation.
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configuration records, and asset inventories.
• Document troubleshooting steps, RCA reports, and change management records in the ITSM
tool.
• Support network-related IT audit activities and ensure compliance with security policies.
Collaboration & Support
• Coordinate with ISPs and network vendors for circuit provisioning, troubleshooting, and SLA
management.
• Support cross-functional IT teams on network-dependent projects (VoIP, video conferencing,
MDM, cloud).
• Provide second-level network support to the IT helpdesk team on escalated connectivity issues.
Network Configuration & Troubleshooting

Work Experience
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong foundational knowledge of networking: OSI model, TCP/IP stack, subnetting, DNS,
DHCP, NAT.
• Good understanding of wireless networking standards: IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6),
frequency bands (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz / 6 GHz).
• Familiarity with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Ubiquiti, or
Juniper.
• Basic understanding of switching (VLANs, STP) and routing (static routes, OSPF concepts).
• Awareness of network security concepts: firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, IDS/IPS, 802.1X
authentication.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills in English for cross-team and vendor coordination.
• Willingness to learn, take ownership, and work independently on assigned tasks.
• B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or
related engineering discipline.
Good to Have:
• Cisco CCNA certification (or preparation in progress) is a strong plus.
• Aruba Certified Associate – Wireless (ACAW) or HPE Aruba fundamentals knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki or Aruba Central cloud-managed wireless platforms.
• Exposure to SD-WAN, MPLS, or cloud networking (AWS/Azure networking basics).
• Scripting basics (Python, Bash) for network automation using tools like Netmiko or Ansible.
• Internship or lab project experience involving Packet Tracer, GNS3, or real hardware setups.
Preferred Certifications (to pursue within first year)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Aruba Certified Associate – Switching & Routing (ACASR) or Wireless (ACAW)
• CompTIA Network+
• Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos)
