JOB SUMMARY:
Provide for the aquatic safety and well-being of all Palm Beach guests and employees
POSITION AUTHORITY:
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
POSITION GUIDELINES:
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Report to lifeguard supervisor every morning for assigned tower and daily information
- Proper uniform must be worn
- Enforce all park and aquatic rules
- Prevention of accidents
- Respond to emergencies providing care as needed
- Provide first-aid as needed
- Report and document all accidents – report must be turned in daily at the end of shift
- Attend all training and in-service classes
- Report all maintenance problems to Park Manager
- Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Obtain and maintain first-aid, CPR and lifeguard certifications
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be reliable and responsible
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to swim
Ability to work outside all day in the sun
