We’re looking for an experienced and energetic Executive Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen, develop talent, and drive a culture of excellence in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
About the Role
As an Executive Sous Chef, you will play a critical leadership role in our Heart of House (HOH) operations. You’ll partner closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen execution, drive operational excellence, and develop a high-performing culinary team. This role blends hands-on leadership with strategic oversight of food quality, cost control, and team development.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop Sous Chefs and kitchen team members
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality
- Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Manage food and labor costs, including inventory and ordering
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards
- Step in to lead all HOH operations in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and a hospitality-first mindset
- Drive team engagement, accountability, and a culture of excellence
What We’re Looking For
- 7–12 years of culinary experience, with 3-5 years in a leadership role
- Strong background in high-volume, upscale or polished casual dining
- Expertise in seafood and shellfish preparation preferred
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Ability to manage costs, operations, and people effectively
- Strong communication and decision-making abilities
- Culinary degree preferred; ServSafe certification required
