This is an exciting opportunity to join Cepheid in Pakistan as a Field Applications Engineer, playing a critical role in supporting customers, expanding the adoption of Cepheid solutions, and ensuring laboratories receive outstanding technical and application support.
Role Overview
The Field Applications Engineer, FAE will provide in-field technical and application support for Cepheid diagnostic systems across Pakistan. The role will support both pre-sales and post-sales activities, with a strong focus on customer training, system implementation, assay adoption, troubleshooting, and long-term customer success.
You will work closely with customers, sales teams, service teams, marketing, scientific affairs, technical support, and global business units to ensure Cepheid instruments are successfully installed, validated, maintained, and fully utilized.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical knowledge, customer-facing confidence, problem-solving ability, and a passion for supporting healthcare laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
Technical and Application Support
Provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support for Cepheid systems.
Support laboratories during instrument implementation, evaluation, validation, and accreditation processes.
Train customers on Cepheid systems, software, reagents, connectivity, workflow, and routine operation.
Monitor installed sites and proactively support system performance, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
Conduct preventive maintenance, modifications, repairs, installations, and de-installations in a timely, productive, and cost-effective manner.
Support customers with hardware, software, PCs, networking, and connectivity-related matters where required.
Interpret customer needs, take ownership of technical issues, and coordinate internally to ensure proper resolution.
Follow Cepheid standard work for documentation, complaint handling, service reporting, and customer follow-up.
Record installations, trainings, customer support activities, follow-ups, and market intelligence in SFDC.
Manage car stock, spare parts, and field inventory responsibly and accurately.
Build strong customer relationships through proactive support, professionalism, and high-quality service delivery.
Commercial and Business Support
Partner closely with Sales Representatives to develop account strategies that support Cepheid business growth in Pakistan.
Support demand generation by engaging with laboratory stakeholders and helping customers understand the value of Cepheid testing.
Identify opportunities to expand testing menus within the installed base.
Collaborate with internal teams to support fast adoption and implementation of new assays.
Network with the scientific and laboratory community to strengthen Cepheid’s market presence and customer engagement.
Provide field insight and market intelligence to support business planning and customer strategy.
Compliance and Training
Complete all assigned and required trainings satisfactorily and on time.
Follow all Danaher and Cepheid policies, compliance requirements, quality standards, and integrity expectations.
Maintain high standards of documentation, customer communication, and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or related discipline preferred.
Experience in clinical laboratory environments is highly preferred.
Knowledge of molecular biology, microbiology, diagnostic testing, or laboratory workflows is an advantage.
Strong technical presentation skills for both group and one-to-one customer settings.
Ability to work closely with sales teams to support business growth and customer adoption.
Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently in the field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM systems such as SFDC.

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to spend approximately 80% of time on-site with customers.
Travel primarily within Pakistan, with possible international travel to UAE or France.
Flexibility to work after hours, overtime, or weekends when required for customer support or special programs.
Ability to safely lift or move up to 16 kg.
May be required to perform additional duties based on business needs.
