About The Team And The Role

At eBay, our workplace experience is a critical part of how we build connection, enable collaboration, and drive business outcomes. The Director, Global Site and Safety Resources will lead global programs that create safe, engaging, reliable, and cost-effective workplace environments across eBay corporate sites! This leader will partner across Finance, People, Legal, Procurement, IT, Internal Audit, Sustainability, site leadership, and business unit leaders to deliver scalable programs, consistent standards, strong governance, and measurable outcomes.

The role is responsible for advancing operational excellence across worldwide site functions, site support, building operations, safety, business continuity preparedness, vendor performance, and employee experience. The Director will help develop and implement a global operating model that supports eBay's evolving workplace needs. This model reinforces eBay DNA, strengthens compliance and readiness, and enables teams to operate with urgency, clarity, and accountability.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Lead the global strategy for site operations, workplace services, facilities management, safety programs, and site resource planning within eBay’s corporate settings!
  • Develop and complete a global return-to-work and workplace experience vision that supports collaboration, efficiency, flexibility, and connection.
  • Build scalable operating models, standards, management structures, and playbooks that improve consistency, service quality, financial rigor, and operational performance across regions.
  • Provide input into enterprise initiatives and translate strategy into tactical execution plans that support eBay financial and operational objectives.
  • Develop quarterly and annual goals, objectives, and performance measures across all functional areas.
  • Prioritize global resources and capital investment initiatives to align with eBay business priorities and portfolio strategy.
  • Define workplace experience strategies in close partnership with Security, Procurement, People, IT, Finance, Sustainability, and local leadership.
  • Oversee global site operations, amenities, employee services, and facility service delivery to create workplaces that are inviting, flexible, adaptable, and cost-effective.
  • Develop global facility standards, processes, and operating procedures collaboratively with internal team members and external partners.
  • Lead teams responsible for facility maintenance, utilities, critical and non-critical infrastructure, lifecycle programs, and operational support.
  • Coordinate decommissioning projects, site transitions, and other CapEx investments in collaboration with Real Estate, Finance, Procurement, IT, Legal, Security Technology and business collaborators.
  • Partner with local leadership and site councils to ensure workplace plans reflect business needs, employee experience priorities, and local requirements.
  • Lead the continued development and implementation of a unified facilities management approach that delivers consistent service levels, vendor accountability, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure facilities meet applicable occupational well-being and risk prevention standards and support a positive safety culture across all sites.
  • Develop and maintain safety programs, training, procedures, reporting, and governance models that support compliance, readiness, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee global safety audits, assessments, investigations, corrective actions, and management action plans.
  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory and compliance reporting.
  • Work closely with Sustainability leadership to support accurate facility carbon footprint reporting and help develop strategies that reduce corporate emissions.
  • Lead organizational and site-level business continuity, disaster recovery, and preparedness planning in partnership with internal collaborators responsible for enterprise crisis management.
  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, playbooks, and training programs across facilities, safety, site operations, and workplace services.
  • Build governance routines that improve visibility, accountability, compliance, and performance across global programs.
  • Manage and lead first-line and second-line audit readiness and response capabilities for areas within scope.
  • Implement lean methodologies and ongoing improvement practices to simplify processes, reduce friction, and improve outcomes.
  • Use data, dashboards, reporting, and technology to improve decision-making, service delivery, and operational transparency.
  • Oversee strategic vendor relationships and global programs across facility management, workplace services, safety, and site operations.
  • Develop and manage CapEx and OpEx budgets, ensuring teams remain on forecast and within approved financial plans.
  • Identify savings opportunities and complete action plans that improve efficiency, reduce structural costs, and strengthen program performance. Establish performance metrics, reporting mechanisms, and governance forums to measure outcomes across employee experience, operational efficiency, vendor delivery, compliance, and financial performance.
  • Lead and develop a diverse global team of full-time employees and alternate workforce resources in a matrixed environment.
  • Promote professional growth, capability building, and succession planning across global site, facilities, and safety teams.
  • Build strong partnerships with Legal, People, Procurement, Finance, IT, Internal Audit, Sustainability, Communications, and global business leaders.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with internal teams and stakeholders regarding projects, operating changes, policies, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Influence across regions and functions to drive alignment, remove barriers, and deliver consistent execution at scale.
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required for site visits, leadership meetings, vendor reviews, and central initiatives.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of related experience in worldwide site management, facilities management, workplace services, environmental health and safety, corporate real estate operations, or related enterprise operations.
  • 10+ years of people leadership experience, including experience leading managers, global teams, alternate workforce resources, and vendor-supported operations.
  • Experience managing global or multi-region programs at enterprise scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategy, translate plans into execution, and align work to business and financial objectives.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in crafting and applying global policies, standards, SOPs, governance frameworks, and operating playbooks.
  • Experience managing CapEx and OpEx budgets, forecasts, financial planning processes, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Experience overseeing complex vendor relationships, supplier performance, contract governance, and service delivery models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communicating effectively with executive collaborators.
  • Strong critical reasoning, prioritization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience setting organizational objectives, key results, performance measures, and reporting routines.
  • Ability to act swiftly while balancing quality, compliance, financial rigor, and workforce happiness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience developing and implementing an Integrated Facilities Management service delivery model.
  • Experience with facility technology, workplace systems, infrastructure programs, service management platforms, dashboards, or automation tools.
  • Experience leading programs passionate about workplace health and safety across corporate environments.
  • Experience with common enterprise systems such as SAP, Concur, Ariba, ServiceNow, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Experience driving organizational change, standardization, and continuous improvement across global operations.
  • Experience partnering with Sustainability teams on facility emissions reporting, efficiency initiatives, or environmental programs. 

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$195,200 - $260,600

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
