As Category Manager, you will chip into the Parts & Accessories category strategy and implement this through working with strategically important sellers, carmakers, car component manufacturers, distributors & regional wholesalers, to ensure that eBay has the right inventory and end-to-end experience to grow the business; you will collaborate also with international vertical team and third parties’ providers to ensure the delivery of main project releases. You will be reporting to the Head of Motors Italy & France & your mission will be focused in business development of new parts, garage tools, tires and accessories for both passengers’ cars and LCVs.

The position is based in Milan, Italy.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Lead existing portfolio of key Parts & Accessories sellers to support business growth:

    • Scale up P&A seller activities by providing constructive business consultation and key account issues solving

    • Identify and implement scaling opportunities and resolve all operational issues through liaison with the customer support and technical teams

    • Target merchandise and work with sellers to get it to site quickly

  • Prospect and win new sellers with active on field Acquisition strategy

  • Coordinate early acquisition activities between seller integration needs and eBay Onboarding team

  • Analysis of inventory insights, market data, industry dynamics, customer shopping trends and the competitive landscape to assess growth opportunities and product improvements

  • Define and drive the yearly strategy in the defined perimeter, in collaboration with Head of Motors, to achieve target in terms of Turnover (GMB & GMV) & Revenue

  • Cross-organizational collaboration with other teams (marketing, trading, catalog, customer support) in planning and delivering initiatives

  • Support Head of Motors in product development and strengthen relation with Parts & Accessories third parties’ providers

  • Represent eBay at industry trade shows and events, staying up to date on market trends, building category knowledge, and growing a strong professional network.

What you will bring:

  • 6 - 8 years of experience within Parts & Accessories in Automotive business,

    offline and/or online. If consolidated knowledge & experience of online retail environment, pure

    player or marketplace, is definitely an advantage.

  • Account management & commercial attitude to deal with carmakers, brand, distributors, garage

  • Capacity to operate tactically & strategically to drive & respond to business performance

  • Basic knowledge of integration in a marketplace environment: must be able to talk technically too

  • Unified understanding of the Italian automotive aftermarket & distribution chain

  • Consolidated knowledge of product range portfolio & automotive catalogue management

  • Commercial sense and business driven to pursue targets with high energy and ambition for success

  • Very good analytical skills/thinking

  • Ability to lead smaller projects across teams

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Can be adaptable during times of change

  • Proficient in English

  • Knowledge and passion for eBay, as buyer or seller, is clearly a plus
