We are seeking a Manager – Core Services Team Leader, Resource Management, to join our Resource Management team within the Human Resources department. They’ll lead our Core Services Resource Management (RM) function, including but not limited to managing a team of Resource Managers across the US and India. They’ll act as a critical business partner to leadership, as well as drive workforce planning, team capacity management, and performance alignment to ensure the successful delivery of client work across our service lines and markets.
Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Leadership & Team Oversight
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Core Services Resource Managers, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and professional development.
- Foster a cohesive, high-performing team environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership guidance on resource strategies during peak seasons, M&A integrations, and growth initiatives.
- Strategic Resource Planning
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership by aligning staffing decisions with business goals, client priorities, and talent development needs across the US and India.
- Lead firmwide Core Services resource forecasting initiatives, using data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for capacity planning.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and HRBP’s to assess hiring needs, pipeline strategy, and onboarding timelines based on forecasted demand.
- Capacity Management & Allocation
- Oversee the allocation of Core Services professionals across the firm, ensuring optimal utilization and balanced workloads.
- Escalate and resolve complex resourcing conflicts, leveraging firm priorities, staff availability, and long-term development goals.
- Monitor team performance metrics and regularly report on utilization, availability, productivity, and forecast accuracy.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with Partners, HR Business Partners, Talent Development, and Operations to support business growth and employee engagement.
- Act as the voice of the Core Services team in cross-functional resource planning meetings and initiatives.
- Lead resource planning efforts for major client transitions, team shifts, or new service offerings.
- People Development & Talent Alignment
- Partner with HR and leadership to ensure staff are matched with assignments that align with their strengths, interests, and development plans.
- Help drive retention by aligning assignments with career goals and facilitating stretch opportunities.
The ideal candidate must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, accounting, or related field; Master’s or MBA (a plus).
- Have 8-10+ years of progressive experience in resource management, workforce planning, or operations, preferably in a public accounting or professional services environment.
- Have prior audit or tax capacity planning experience (strongly preferred).
- Have prior experience managing or leading a team of resource managers.
- Have the proven ability to navigate a matrixed organization and influence at all levels.
- Possess strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and resource management systems.
- Possess exceptional communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Possess strong business acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
