You will help deliver critical solutions supporting DHL’s airline and road transportation operations, working closely with a collaborative team.
- Maintain, enhance, and modernize legacy applications (Java, Hibernate, JZeno)
- Support the transition to a modern microservices architecture
- Analyse functional and technical requirements
- Share and manage domain and technical knowledge across Global Aviation IT
Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for:
Advanced knowledge of:
- Java 1.8+ (in general, we follow the LTS release of Java if technically possible)
- Microservices architecture
- Object Oriented design & development
- Hibernate / JPA
- JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Maven, Git, CI/CD (e.g. Bamboo)
- Test-driven development
- Cloud-native application development
Good knowledge of:
- Spring Boot & Java EE
- Plain JDBC, MS SQL, Oracle
- Database and integration technologies
- Json and XML processing
- REST services (implementation of client & server)
- Document generation technologies (Jasper Reports, iText)
- AI assisted development - Prompting code assistants effectively, Generating unit/integration tests and Refactoring legacy code safely, LLM APIs, Building AI-enabled APIs and Orchestrating model calls in services
Understanding of:
- Kafka
- Apache POI for XLS
- Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo)
- OWASP TOP 10 and secure code implementation
- Dynatrace to monitor application performance & remedy application issues
