ROLE PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, Sales Development role reports to the VP, Sales Development & eCommerce, and supports the Sales Development function across the following areas:
i) Commercial Strategy Development
ii) Change Management
iii) Country Commercial Reviews (CCR)
iv) General Team Management
The role does not have direct reports; however, the incumbent is required to lead workgroups comprising country teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
i) Commercial Strategy Development
- Continuously develop a deep strategic understanding of the business, including defined business segments.
- Orchestrate strategic plans and roadmaps required to achieve commercial objectives.
- Drive process improvements to support strategic goals, influencing stakeholders to implement change.
- Lead workgroups (e.g. country teams, cross‑functional teams, subject matter experts) to test, iterate, and implement solutions to strategic initiatives across channels.
- Lead workgroups to build critical skills and capabilities required to deliver strategic objectives.
- Apply a data‑driven approach to generate business insights across channels and strategic growth areas.
- Partner with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to drive and track commercial priorities across channels, segments, and countries.
ii) Facilitating Change Management
- Lead the development and management of APEC Commercial communication frameworks and platforms (e.g. Commercial Site, Monthly Calls, Quarterly Newsletters).
- Collaborate with APEC Regional Office (RO) and Global Head Office (GHO) Commercial stakeholders to communicate key initiatives and messages across the region.
iii) Facilitating Country Commercial Reviews (CCR)
- Support the coordination and design of CCR materials to enable focused, practical, and effective business discussions.
- Lead the development of a more digitalised and efficient CCR preparation process.
- Manage timelines and milestones leading up to CCR sessions.
- Track and manage feedback, follow‑ups, and action items arising from CCR sessions.
iv) General Management Support
- Support coordination and milestone management of regional strategic projects.
- Anchor commercial aspects of B24B, driving country actions to deliver targets and monitoring progress.
- Support commercial organisation set‑up to ensure structures are optimised for profitable growth.
- Develop tools to monitor performance, identify gaps, and support action planning.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s or postgraduate degree in a business‑related field is preferred.
- Experience within DHL Express is preferred.
- Experience as a frontline Sales Manager.
- Proven experience in implementing and leading projects.
- Experience working in a multicultural and international environment.
- Ability to manage stress and willingness to travel.
- Proven track record in project management.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills with the ability to influence.
