Develops, coordinates, and delivers training programs for new and existing staff responsible for registration, bed control, and scheduling functions. Designs and organizes comprehensive training courses for Patient Access and support staff, covering departmental policies and procedures, registration data quality standards, medical necessity software, scanning applications, and coding tools.

- Plans training activities and oversees the development of training projects. Conducts orientation sessions and provides on‑the‑job training for new and existing employees.
- Provides training on daily operations, including patient identification, data collection, situation assessment, and processes that ensure financial viability while enhancing customer service skills.
- Develops and delivers training to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements impacting patient registration and financial clearance, including but not limited to HIPAA privacy standards, EMTALA emergency treatment protocols, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, the No Surprises Act, the Affordable Care Act, CMS Conditions of Participation, and identity theft prevention rules. Provides training on patient rights, accurate data collection, insurance verification, and cost transparency requirements.
- Develops and maintains insurance training related to eligibility verification, coordination of benefits, the claims process from start to finish, referral procedures, differences between hospital and physician billing, Medicare Secondary Payer rules, Advance Beneficiary Notices, and patient cost estimates.
- Provides individualized training as needed based on audit results received from the quality team and recommends targeted training plans to strengthen employee skills.
- Reviews, revises, and maintains training materials to ensure content is current and meets quality standards.
- Evaluates internal processes and suggests process improvements; assists in the development and maintenance of departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborates with departmental partners to develop refresher training for staff.
- Participates in downtime regression testing and attends third‑party in‑services to ensure system functionality and regulatory compliance.
- Communicates with IS&T, system users, and leadership regarding prioritization of system changes, testing activities, and enhancements.
- Must be able to flex work schedule to meet staff needs on evening, night, and weekend shifts and assist during scheduled system downtime, typically occurring overnight or during early morning hours, as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of previous healthcare registration experience.
- Two (2) years of previous training experience.
Preferred
- Associate’s degree in business, information systems, or a related field.
- Previous experience with Epic, including Epic Prelude, Cadence Scheduling, and Grand Central.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $ 23.70 - 33.19
