Position Summary

Under limited supervision, the Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive healthcare services to a specific patient population in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This role is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients while ensuring continuity of care through effective communication and coordination with the healthcare team, patients, and families.

The NP will help promote quality, cost-effective care and patient safety while integrating evidence-based practices into clinical decision-making.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform medical examinations, evaluations, and follow-up care
  • Obtain patient histories and develop appropriate care plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and care teams to coordinate patient care
  • Document patient care and clinical findings accurately in the medical record
  • Promote patient safety and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Provide health maintenance education and preventive care guidance


Qualifications

Required:

  • Master of Science degree and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure
  • BLS certification (or obtained prior to direct patient care)
  • DEA and CDS eligibility

Preferred:

  • Prior clinical experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
