At Encore, we value talent, experience, and commitment. We are currently seeking a Dredge Captain to join our team. This position requires a highly reputable and experienced individual who can effectively lead, manage, and support our crew.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This is not all-inclusive)
- Upholds the Company’s commitment to an injury-free workplace; leads and models safe work practices
- Follows all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
- Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE
- Ensures team members are provided a safe work environment and are knowledgeable of safe work practices and policies
- Reviews equipment logs, deficiency logs, maintenance logs, and leverman logs and performs follow-up inspections on a daily basis and notes results in appropriate safety inspection form and maintenance logs
- Plans the safe and efficient execution of all moves
- Supervises the performance of the dredge, the crew, and the equipment to achieve maximum efficiency on both shifts
- Oversees inventory and ordering all supplies and spare parts along with housekeeping of equipment
- Performs duties as the safety director and is responsible for the safety of his crew and equipment
- Plans and oversees repairs and maintenance
- Works directly with the chief and the equipment manager to properly and efficiently make needed repairs and maintenance
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three or more years of Dredge Captain experience
- Excellent safety and mechanical skills
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position as outlined in the Functional Job Description
- Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
- Weekly pay, one week in arrears
- Standard work hours are typically 12 hours daily; however, adjustments may be made depending on the operational requirements
- This position typically works a 14 day on, 7 day off rotation
- This is an FLSA salaried exempt position
