Palmdale currently operates in more than 50 counties across Florida and provides a wide range of tailored commercial fuel and lubricant solutions to customers in the agricultural, industrial, construction, marine, and government sectors. Operating out of 20 locations statewide, the company is a leader in the industry in the procurement and sale of gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, propane, commercial and industrial lubricants, and chemicals that are used across a diverse set of end markets.
Palmdale Oil Company has an opening for a Manager of Data Engineering who will be responsible for leading the Business Analytics function at Palmdale Oil. This a highly visible role throughout the organization requiring a blend of deep technical skills with strong collaborative abilities. We will look to this person to bring thought leadership to an organization that is fairly young in its Business Analytics journey. You will have the opportunity to work across all business lines, interacting with resources at all levels. We are rapidly growing company with deep roots in Florida and looking forward to adding a dynamic person to lead this area.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and move large datasets.
- Data Architecture: Building, testing, and maintaining robust, scalable database systems and data warehouses.
- Data Quality & Reliability: Implementing data validation, debugging, and security protocols to ensure data integrity.
- Report & Dashboard Development: Design and build visually compelling, interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop.
- Data Modeling & Transformation: Import, clean, and transform data from various sources using Power Query (M language) and build complex data models
Required Qualifications
- Technical Proficiencies: Expert-Level skills in Microsoft Azure: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Logic App, Azure Analysis Services, Azure SQL DB, Azure Databricks, Power BI, Azure DevOps, Azure Synapse , Azure Fabric, Azure CI/CD as well as strong skills in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala, and SQL
- Data Modeling: Expertise in designing relational and non-relational database schemas.
- DAX Development/Optimization: Develop complex DAX queries and formulas for calculated columns and measures.
- Cloud & Tools: Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) Python, Asure Data Factory
- Experience: 5 plus years of experience in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence/data analysis.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
