What to Expect

The Reinsurance Program Manager will oversee the third-party vendor responsible for the day-to-day administration of the reinsurance program and ensure program setup, reporting, settlement, and compliance. This role serves as the primary liaison across internal teams and external partners (e.g., program administrators and dealers) and is accountable for vendor performance management, as well as field sales support and training related to the reinsurance program. This role also supports growth through pricing and program-structure recommendations and by developing sales pro forma forecasts that illustrate potential dealer earnings opportunities.

 

What You Will Do

1. Vendor Management

· Oversee the third-party vendor administration of the reinsurance program, which includes setting expectations, monitoring service levels, and ensuring deliverables are met.

· Ensure program setup and maintenance, including plan configuration, dealer/program onboarding support, and change control.

· Conduct weekly touch-base calls with outsourced vendor to ensure compliance with all aspects of the program.

· Manage settlement and financial reconciliation processes, including payment/statement review, variance investigation, and issue resolution with the vendor and partners.

· Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable contractual requirements, internal policies, and relevant regulatory/market requirements related to reinsurance administration.

· Support the renewal and negotiation of Master Services Agreement (MSA) as it relates to all reinsurance program activities. Maintain settlement rate reports, prepare, and validate data, and perform issue to issue analysis.

 

2. Reinsurance Program Management

· Recommend appropriate pricing and program structure based on sales opportunity, competitive considerations, and profitability targets.

· Create Sales proforma forecasts as requested, illustrating potential earnings opportunity for Dealers.

· Provide Field Sales with dealer-facing program Terms & Conditions and enrollment requirements; coordinate/track any required Controlled Foreign Corporation (CFC) setup (where applicable) and review dealer contracting/enrollment packages for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.

· Develop and deliver Field Sales support and training materials related to the reinsurance program, including dealer-facing guidance and internal enablement.

· Serve as the subject-matter resource for program questions and issue resolution.

· Ensure program compliance and strong controls by validating premium/claims data inputs, maintaining documentation and evidence, and by supporting audits and internal control testing (e.g., SOX/KSOX) in coordination with the vendor and internal teams.

· Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Accounting, FP&A/Treasury, Operations, Legal/Compliance) and external partners (vendor administrators, dealers) to communicate status, manage risks, and drive timely resolution of issues and inquiries.

· Validate program reporting for completeness and accuracy; develop, refine, and communicate standard and ad hoc reporting to internal stakeholders and external partners.

· Review, approve and obtain signatures from HCI Corporation officers for contracts, surplus releases, and claw-backs.

3. Program Performance

· Monitor key performance indicators (premium, losses, commissions, profit share) and provide variance and driver explanations to stakeholders.

· Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, strengthening controls, and partnering with the vendor and internal teams on automation, standardization, and UAT/testing for changes impacting program reporting or settlements.

What You Will Bring

· Minimum 5-7 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance operations, reinsurance accounting/finance, insurance accounting, or related program management roles

· Automotive or financial services industries preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related discipline.

· MBA a plus.

· Working knowledge of reinsurance concepts and program structures (e.g., treaty/facultative concepts, ceded premium and loss flows, commissions, profit share, settlements).

· Strong analytical and reconciliation skills; ability to interpret results, identify drivers, and resolve variances across premium, claims, and cash activity.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel; ability to work with large datasets and improve reporting efficiency.

· Experience managing third-party vendors; (performance management, service levels, issue resolution, and governance).

· Knowledge of internal controls and audit support expectations (e.g., SOX/KSOX), including documentation and evidence retention.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex data into clear, actionable updates for stakeholders.

· High attention to detail, strong organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a close/statement cycle environment.

· Exceptional attention to detail and quality.

· Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

· Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with cross functional departments and external partners.

· Strong orientation toward results coupled with reputation for integrity, creativity and good judgment

· Must have the ability to challenge, when appropriate, existing practices.

 

Work Environment

Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an at home and office environment.

 

The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
