Napa Valley Lodge is an idyllic wine country retreat with complimentary amenities and thoughtful service.

We are seeking a Pool Attendant to join our outstanding team!

Our Pool Attendants greet all guests joining the courtyard while providing prompt and courteous service. The actively seek to assist guests with their needs while utilizing the courtyard (beverage, food, pool activities). They maintain the courtyard and public areas in clean and ready condition. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Greet all guests in a courteous and friendly manner and provides general assistance, directions and information regarding the hotel and it services.
  • Practice active listening and communication in a timely manner to managers and captains, providing prompt and thorough follow-through. 
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility by reducing waste and working safely. 
  • Be proactive in increasing the customer service scores for the department, measured through comment cards and social media. 
  • Keep pool area welcoming, clean and tidy. 
  • Maintain presence on the pool/courtyard, be visible.
  • Has full knowledge and understanding of the menus. 
  • Has a working knowledge of the wine list, and all beverages served: spirits, beers, wines by-the-glass, non-alcoholic offerings and coffee & tea options. 
  • Constantly monitors guest’s needs and responds promptly. 
  • Assist co-workers when necessary in other departments. 
  • Maintain a positive attitude and respect co-workers and guests in all interactions.
  • Post Pool charges to guest’s folios. 
  • Follow all safety, hygiene and cleanliness protocols at all times. 
  • Restock the public restroom with all supplies. 
  • Clean pool area, chairs and restocks with towels. 
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. 

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. 

Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Able to communicate effectively with others. 
  • Previous server experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage.
  • Knowledge of spirits/beer selection. 
  • Ability to multi-task and handle high pressure situations.
  • Awareness of guest consumption. 
  • Meets the legal age requirements. 
  • Very detail oriented, to ensure the quality of cleanliness. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English. 
  • Able to maintain a good working relationship with other departments, associates and guests. 
  • Meets legal age requirements for the position. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability. Previous bartending experience is a plus.

The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and outdoor and inclement weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

GROOMING 

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available.) 

PAY SCALE

The pay scale for this position is between $19.00 per hour, plus gratuities. This is the pay rate for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
