Compounding Pharmacist
Job Description
Red Rock Pharmacy is a fast-growing Long-Term Care Pharmacy and we are looking for a Full-Time Compounding Pharmacist for the Springville area.
We are looking for a hard-working, organized, problem-solving pharmacist with great attention to detail. Experience in long-term care pharmacy is preferred, but not required so long as the applicant is willing to learn.
SPECIFIC PHARMACIST DUTIES:
- Custom Medication Preparation: Preparing, mixing, and formulating medications customized to patient-specific requirements.
- Sterile/Non-Sterile Compounding: Working in cleanroom environments to create sterile products (injections, eye drops) following strict aseptic techniques.
- Clinical Consultation: Collaborating with healthcare providers to develop tailored therapies and providing consultations to patients on customized drugs.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensuring all formulations adhere to USP <795> (non-sterile), USP <797> (sterile), and USP <800> (hazardous drugs) standards.
- Regulatory Adherence: Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with FDA, DEA, and state board of pharmacy regulations.
- Technician Supervision: Overseeing pharmacy technicians engaged in the compounding process to ensure accuracy and safety.

Compensation is dependent on experience.
- Active pharmacist license in the State of Utah, and in good standing
- Previous compounding experience preferred (sterile and/or non-sterile)
- Active Controlled Substance license
- Knowledge of compounding regulations and standards
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism
