Job Description
Position Summary
The Campground Attendant at Lakeshore Cabins and Campground is a hands-on, hybrid role with primary responsibility for cabin housekeeping and a secondary role supporting front desk and grounds operations as needed. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this position is essential to delivering a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience for every guest — whether they are arriving at a freshly turned cabin, checking in at the front desk, or enjoying the property during their stay.
This is a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work, moves with purpose, and enjoys variety in their day.
Core Responsibilities
Housekeeping (Primary)
• Clean and prepare cabins between guest stays to property standards: linens, bathrooms, kitchens, floors, dusting, and trash removal.
• Inspect cabins post-clean to ensure readiness; restock guest amenities and supplies.
• Launder, fold, and rotate linens and towels; maintain par levels and inventory.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, damages, or excessive wear discovered during turns.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, and shared bathhouse facilities.
• Track and manage cleaning supplies and amenities; flag low inventory to the Park Manager.
Front Desk Support (Secondary)
• Float to the front desk during peak check-in/check-out periods, breaks, or staffing gaps.
• Greet guests warmly; assist with check-in, check-out, and basic reservation inquiries.
• Answer phone and in-person questions about availability, amenities, and the local Ennis/McAllister area.
• Process payments accurately and maintain cash drawer accountability when assigned.
Grounds & Property Support (As Needed)
• Walk the property to ensure cleanliness, order, and guest readiness across cabins, RV sites, tent areas, and common spaces.
• Pick up litter, empty exterior trash receptacles, and tidy outdoor gathering areas.
• Assist with light grounds tasks such as setting up/breaking down event spaces, sweeping walkways, and snow/leaf clearing as conditions require.
• Report maintenance, safety, or grounds issues to the appropriate department promptly.
Compliance & Communication
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Communicate clearly with the Park Manager and other team members during shift hand-offs.
• Consistently apply property policies — quiet hours, pet rules, site-use guidelines — in a respectful, professional manner.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in producing clean, guest-ready spaces.
• Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple cabins or tasks in a shift.
• Friendly, guest-first demeanor; comfortable interacting with a diverse guest population.
• Basic computer literacy; willingness to learn the property management system (PMS) for front desk coverage.
• Reliable and punctual; able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and peak summer season.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred
• Prior experience in hotel housekeeping, vacation rental cleaning, or campground/RV park operations.
• Front desk, guest services, or cash-handling experience.
• Familiarity with hospitality PMS platforms.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
• Frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs (linens, supplies, equipment).
• Ability to walk the property in varied weather conditions for cabin turns and inspections.
• Comfort working with cleaning chemicals using proper PPE.
