Activity Assistant/Driver - Part Time
Looking for a part‑time Activity Assistant/Driver to join our team. In this role, you’ll help provide safe, friendly transportation for our residents and support the Activity Director in creating meaningful, engaging experiences for our seniors.
The position includes both day and evening hours, with a regular schedule of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, plus occasional weekend and holiday availability as needed. We’re looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people and bringing positive energy to our community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Provides transportation for residents to doctors appointments and labs as scheduled.
- Provides transportation to grocery store, drug store, and mall based on sign-up sheet and in coordination with Activities Director.
- Drives residents to special events in the community and scenic drives as scheduled by activities department.
- Interacts with residents to ensure their transportation needs are being met.
- Uses time management and customer service skills.
- Assists in health services department and with activities as requested.
- Maintains vehicles in a clean, safe manner ensuring they are washed, fueled, oil changed, tires in excellent condition, and safety inspections are performed as required. Ensures license tags are up to date.
- Maintains confidentiality of residents personal information in and out of the community and protects and supports residents rights.
- Maintains vehicle mileage log
- Responsible for taking necessary paperwork provided by nursing director or designee to appointments
- Ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents’ / guests’ requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents and staff.
- Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly and disabled.
- Must be knowledgeable of the location of the MSDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team to prioritize workload as emergencies arise.
- Must possess current, active drivers license with an excellent driving record. May require CDL for larger vans as required by state law.

Education/Experience: High school degree or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working in a care facility desired.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Position requires some strenuous physical work such as loading wheel chairs into van, assisting residents with walkers, canes, etc. or those who become unsteady or fall. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently.
