The Boeing Company is seeking an experienced Electrophysics Engineer/Scientist to join the Phantom Works team in Berkeley, MO. This role will support the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

Within Phantom Works, the Network Centric Operations Team designs, develops, and implements platform-agnostic software capabilities that enable network operations for tactical fighter aircraft. The selected team member will enjoy working collaboratively, be committed to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and be successful in a multi-contract/multi-program environment. This role supports the development of solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation and will involve learning and adapting to new tools and environments.

Position Responsibilities

  • Derive and quantify data fusion algorithms and techniques.
  • Author and maintain technical documentation, requirements, and algorithm analysis memos (AAMs) for data fusion methods.
  • Analyze data fusion approaches for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Develop prototype algorithms in C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar languages.
  • Collaborate with software architects to support efficient algorithm implementation and design.
  • Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings and develop conclusions and recommendations.
  • Work with customers to develop and refine requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
  • 2+ years’ experience with data fusion engines, kinematic correlation techniques, and Kalman filters. (Can we ask how many years of experience with Kalman Filter Design)
  • 2 + years Experience with pattern recognition, multi-modal sensor data fusion, sensor calibration, and visualization technologies.
  • 2+ years’ experience with sensors, sensor management and fusion, datalinks, and/or weapons and their interactions.
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (or one active within the last 24 months).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
  • Data fusion analysis and/or software development experience.
  • Experience with sensor data such as radar and various infrared sensors.
  • Experience developing and implementing probabilistic models for sensor fusion (Bayesian reasoning, Kalman filtering, evidence theory).
  • Experience with advanced probability and statistics and applying them to real-world scenarios.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude, strong ethics, and excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and within time-constrained environments.
  • Strong skill in collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; and in summarizing findings into actionable recommendations.

 Summary pay range:

Level 3: $112,200-$151,800

Level 4: $136,850-$185,150
