UW Medical Center-Northwest - Special Care Unit (SCU) has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE
36 hours per week
3x12 shift schedule
Night shifts only (7:00pm-7:30am)
ABOUT OUR SPECIAL CARE UNIT
We are a stepdown, progressive care floor with telemetry services
We offer 17 individual rooms for patients
We consistently hold 1:3 and 1:4 nurse to patient ratios
We pride ourselves on delivering dedicated intermediary care to patients who have been discharged from our ICU and our procedural units
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Training will be provided to experienced hospital nurses who are transitioning into stepdown care for the first time

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide nursing care to a critically ill patient population, including patients experiencing cardiac abnormalities, vascular illness, and diabetic ketoacidosis
Work alongside physicians and care managers
Assess heart and lung conditions using telemetry equipment
Administer IV medications, including heparin drips
Administer vasoactive medications
Educate patients and their families on ongoing care plans
REQUIREMENTS
BLS
ACLS
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
1 year of recent inpatient hospital RN work experience
