The Maintenance Technician at Savage’s Trucking Facility will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of heavy truck and trailer equipment used in the transportation of hazardous materials and oilfield goods.
Here is what you will be doing
Perform minor/major repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on bulk tanker trailers, intermodal chassis with tanks, flatbeds, and tractors. As well as the hydraulic pumps and equipment used on the tractors and trailers.
Assists with other facility mechanical repairs as necessary, maintains shop cleanliness and parts inventory
Learn and partner with the Maintenance Manager to utilize Manager + as a tool of organization and preventative maintenance record-keeping
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements
Follow proper safety rules, maintenance, and operating procedures, Assist with writing and revising maintenance procedures as needed
Here is what we will need from you
Experience needed in troubleshooting, repairing hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems, in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer-based systems, and being able to visually recognize problems a big plus
Prior experience as a mobile equipment mechanic/diesel mechanic, pickups, tractors, and trailers required
Ability to read, write, and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions, excellent communication skills
Welding experience a plus, willingness to do a significant amount of preventative maintenance, prepared to help with anything requiring attention, as directed by the Maintenance Manager
Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors, and other team members
Self-starter capable of working independently, in line with company goals, strategies, and policies.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion, a strong record of continuous improvement, personal development, and attention to detail
Here are the physical requirements you will be doing
Will be on your feet for extended period of time throughout the day
Navigating the facility will include, but is not limited to, exposure to harsh weather conditions, uneven ground, ladders, racks, and other high places, ground that can be slick or uneven, and other industrial hazards
The work site is an industrial setting and will require someone who can work safely around this type of environment, as well as ensure compliance with strict OSHA and State regulations
