Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for an ASC Market Development Manager - NY, NJ, PA, MD to join our MedTech Surgery business.
This is a field-based role that covers four states. While specific geographic locations are listed in the locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) business focuses on delivering products, services, and value-based solutions designed specifically for outpatient surgical environments.
Position Summary
The ASC Market Development Manager drives local sales strategy and execution through deep customer engagement across all MedTech Surgery platforms and value-based programs. This role leverages advanced sales tools, analytics, and performance dashboards to accelerate growth, improve execution, and enhance sales efficiency.
This role will report to the National Sales Director – ASCs
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Execution:
Partner with Field Sales, Marketing, KAM, Contracting, HEMA, HCC, Legal, and the FSO to execute business plans, deliver value propositions, and align on ASC growth strategies
Franchise Integration:
Partner across Orthopedic and Cardiac franchises to align offerings, expand access, and drive enterprise-level ASC growth initiatives
Account Strategy & Planning:
Drive disciplined account planning; co-develop multi-platform strategic plans that prioritize investments, define execution, and align field + inside sales teams
Sales Cycle Ownership:
Identify, prioritize, and advance strategic ASC accounts through the full sales cycle using consultative/Challenger methodologies to unlock and close opportunities
Customer Engagement:
Build and maintain executive (C-suite) relationships; lead quarterly business reviews and collaborate with ASC leadership on near- and long-term priorities
Contracting Leadership:
Partner with KAM/contracting teams to develop pricing strategies; lead contract negotiations and drive multi-platform contract adoption and targeted conversions
Performance & Growth Delivery:
Drive ASC sales objectives and grow MedTech Surgery market share across acute care (Class of Trade 3001) through strategic account execution
Segmentation & Program Alignment:
Collaborate with customer program teams to align solutions with clinical, operational, and economic needs in ASC settings
Value Optimization:
Identify opportunities to improve outcomes via cost optimization, clinical value, access, and operational efficiency
Team Leadership & Alignment:
Provide dotted-line leadership and mentorship to inside sales; ensure strong communication and alignment across internal stakeholders
Market Intelligence & Compliance:
Provide market feedback to inform innovation and programs; support professional education initiatives; ensure strict adherence to J&J ethical standards and integrity culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience required with 3+ years of medical device sales experience preferred; commercial leadership or market development experience preferred
- Surgical product experience required; ASC experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in value-based market development and strategic customer relationships
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Experience with ASC, GPO, and/or independent contracting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- A valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 United States is required.
- The ability to travel, including overnight and/or weekends, up to 60% of the time
This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$114,000.00 - $182,850.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains a highly competitive sales incentive compensation program. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for participation in this program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
