Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare basic components of dishes, such as sauces, dressings, and garnishes, under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Monitor ingredient levels, assist in inventory checks, and ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
- Follow precise culinary instructions to prepare mise en place for daily service.
- Work closely with chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and seamless meal preparation.
- Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality, notifying supervisors of any inconsistencies.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Follow resort and kitchen policies, including safety protocols and waste reduction initiatives.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food handling in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or high-end resort kitchen is preferred.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food safety practices.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a passion for culinary excellence.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
