At the Valeo plant in Czechowice-Dziedzice, we manufacture powertrain systems that support fuel consumption reduction and lower emissions—including starters, air throttles, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves, electromechanical actuators, and innovative electric drives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead and develop Product Functional Testing teams across multiple product lines (E-motors, Electromechanical actuators, Hydraulic actuators, Starters & Alternators).

  • Resource & Lab Management: Ensure the availability, proper maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment required for functional testing.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise in electrical and mechanical principles; act as a key escalator for solving complex technical issues.

  • Talent Development: Create and execute competence growth plans based on individual career and training paths.

  • EHS Compliance: Manage laboratory resources while strictly ensuring compliance with Safety and Environmental requirements.

  • Test Planning & Execution: Oversight of proper test planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines.

  • CAPEX & Budgeting: Define, justify, and execute new investments (equipment/tools) to meet project requirements; plan and control the department budget.

  • Risk & Issue Management: Perform first-level analysis of issues and provide comprehensive project validation risk assessments.

  • KPI Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to senior management.

  • Standards & Compliance: Schedule and conduct internal assessments to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards.

  • Quality Administration: Manage and administer testing activities in strict accordance with IATF 16949 and ISO 17025 quality management systems.

  • Reporting Line: Direct report to the Test & Validation Department Manager.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of proven experience in Laboratory Management, preferably within the automotive sector.

  • Education: Master’s degree in a technical field (Electrotechnical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering).

  • Languages: Proficiency in both English and Polish (written and verbal) is essential.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong people management, mentoring, and team-building capabilities.

  • Standards Knowledge: Deep understanding of automotive and lab standards (IATF 16949, ISO 17025) and EHS standards (ISO 14001, 45001, 50001).

  • Soft Skills: Highly supportive, adaptable, and flexible mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude.

  • Global Collaboration: Readiness and willingness to work effectively within international, cross-functional teams.
