Job Description
We're looking for a Network Engineer to join our growing team!
The ideal candidate possesses advanced knowledge in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation within the Network Observability suite of products. You will be part of a core team responsible for device monitoring, lab design, and root-cause analysis across enterprise network environments.
You will work as part of a small, highly focused engineering team following an Agile software development process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive technical strategies for network observability and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding and/or creating network architecture design diagrams
- Continually fixing SNMP, Flow, and API monitoring issues; modifying YAML files for OID mapping; and identifying new devices to map
- Designing, building, and maintaining centralized demonstration labs (e.g., BlueCat Private Cloud); upgrading firmware; and installing new devices
- Performing root-cause analysis using packet tools such as Wireshark and interrogating telemetry data to detect anomalies or performance hotspots
- Developing scripting and automation solutions using Python or Ruby to improve efficiency and testing
- Implementing effective security protocols and data protection measures
- Coordinating with internal teams to train and support new technical solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced understanding of OSI/TCP-IP models, protocols (HTTP, DNS, ARP, ICMP), and network architecture (VLANs, subnets, NAT)
- Experience with network monitoring tools (LiveNX, LiveWire, SolarWinds) and traffic simulation tools (Ixia, Spirent)
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification preferred
- Python programming
- SNMP and Netflow
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent
