Job Description

Job Title: Permit Manager – Small Works Manager – H&S Champion

Business Sector: Bloomberg

Location: 3 Queen Victoria Street, London EC4N 4TQ

 

 

Permit Manager

 

  • Administration of client e-permit system.
  • Review and feedback \ approval of supplier / contractor RAMS and permit application. 
  • Ensure contractors have completed their company and engineers profiles within the permit system.
  • Creation of all Cyan access badge requests for BGIS contractors submitted according to names on permits. 
  • Overview of all works ensuring that there are no works clashing within same areas of building. 
  • Attend site permit meetings with client / contactor.
  • Adding isolations details incl. smoke detection / sprinklers / electrical / mechanical to the permit.
  • Accessing site fire alarm panel to ascertain smoke head isolation details. 
  • Raising SDSK tickets for sprinkler, fire and M&E isolations for relevant party. 
  • Member of BGIS site management team.
  • Inspection of works to ensure compliance with submitted permit.

H&S Champion

 

  • H&S qualification, minimum IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Management of BGIS H&S systems on portal.
  • Point of contact for all internal and external audits. 
  • Ensure all documentation is reviewed annually.
  • Attend client vendor monthly H&S forum. 
  • Attend BGIS quarterly H&S Champions meetings. 
  • Oversee BGIS toolbox programme and attend engineers Toolbox Talks during day shifts.
  • Provide required H&S information for monthly client and internal reporting
  • Carry out regular site inspections with team members and reporting hazards \ near misses etc

 

Small Works coordinator

 

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to determine the scope of works and understand impact
  • Provide quotes to client for approval via Astea system.
  • Raise finance SDSK tickets to obtain client approval.
  • Liaising with contractors for submission of quotes.
  • Updating of small works finance tracker.
  • Attend weekly small works meeting with client and provide timely updates.

 

 

Accountabilities 

 

Reporting to the Account Director

Person Specification 

Education A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematics skills. 

 

Training Formally trained in an engineering maintenance discipline to City and Guilds level 3 or the equivalent NVQ. 

 

Experience: Engineering / technical background.

Experience working in high profile, client facing corporate environments.
H&S qualification, minimum IOSH Managing Safely.

Knowledge of e-permits system is desirable but not essential. 

 

Aptitudes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Quick to learn new systems.

Ability to work with Word and Excel.

  • An ability to analyse a problem without dwelling on the issues to find solutions and opportunities rather than difficulties and limitations.
  • Proactive approach to tasks, deadlines and workload. Never waiting to be asked, able to recognise a need and stepping forward to meet that need.
