Location: Fayetteville, NC
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $47,500 annually
Travel: Up to 10%
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some evenings and weekends required)

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to support financial operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role plays a key role in maintaining the organization's financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze general ledger entries and financial transactions
- Conduct daily cash flow analysis for assigned funds
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Analyze financial data, including assets, liabilities, and capital
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers for accuracy
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls
- Verify bank deposits and ensure accuracy
- Monitor compliance with GAAP and organizational policies
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
- Prepare payroll and daily bank deposits
- Maintain company benefits records
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local financial reports
- Recommend improvements to accounting processes
- Ensure compliance with financial and legal requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience:
- Candidates should possess 2 to 4 years of relevant accounting experience, with a preference for backgrounds in non-profit accounting.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and word processing tools
- Ability to learn internal systems within 60 days
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
